Three individuals, Olakunle Tobun, 63, Adewale Quadri, 70, and Omotola Tobun, 69, were arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Thursday for allegedly exhuming two corpses from their graves without lawful justification.
According to the prosecution counsel, Insp Iyabo Oladoyin, the defendants exhumed the corpses of Late Muritala Tobun and Late Wulematu Tobun from their graves at No. 24, Old Police Post, Molete, Ibadan, in August.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges of conspiracy and exhumation of corpses. Magistrate Mrs T. G. Daodu admitted them to bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with one surety each in like sum, who must be related to the defendants.
The case has been adjourned until November 12 for further hearing.
