In line with the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority (LNRBDA), llorin, Kwara state, has organized a three-day training on development of enhanced service delivery for members of staff across the departments.
The three day training which kicked off on Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th September 2024 was held at the palatial Synergy Impact Development Centre on Ven Adefila street, off Lanjorn road, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara state.
Speaking with newsmen at the closing ceremony of the training weekend, the Managing Director of the LNRBDA, Engineer Dr. Adeniyi Saheed Aremu, stressed that the training is basically to “upscale the knowledge of our staff to meet with the demands of the society.”
He recalled that the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Engineer Professor Joseph Terlumun Utsev sometimes ago signed the ministerial performance bond with Mr President and “in line with that we have many deliverables and priorities set by Mr President on the renewed hope agenda so in line with that we now want to domicile those priorities and also work towards achieving those priorities and that’s why we have organized these series of training programmes in line with our mandate the deliverables, priorities and focus areas of the authority.”
The MD further explained that the series of training initiated by the authority for members of staff is aimed at equipping them and building their capacities in line with the mandate of the authority.
“This is why when you check the module developed for this training you will see that it truly revolves around the theme of the training which is to support development of enhanced service delivery in Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority,” he said.
In his remarks the Executive Director, Planning, Investigation and Design, Engr Rasheed Oyedeji revealed that he had been in the department of Planning, Investigation and Design for fifteen years and the last seven years had been remarkable in terms of the series of trainings held for members of staff.
He commended the foresight and resilience of the MD in ensuring that members of staff are kept abreast of latest information in the authority.
“We have been having four to five trainings every year and this we have never had before now, indeed this MD has done creditably well. I have been in the Planning department for 15 years and we have never had it this good before now.
“This small number of staff has made it easy for interactions and every member of the team can easily be carried along so whenever we are having more trainings we will try to follow this pattern so as to ensure we achieve maximum result,” he said.
Kogiupdates reports that the training program with the theme “Support For Development Of Enhanced Service Delivery In Lower Niger River Basin Development Authority was conducted by Synergy Impact Consultants Limited and had 15 participants drawn from different departments of the Authority in attendance.
Speaking with Kogiupdates, one of the participants, Zainab Kali described the three days training as “very very educational and impactive.”
She explained that all the modules taught were instructive and educative and assured that participants will judiciously use the knowledge gained from the training in the different departments and units so as to forge the Authority forward.
Another participant, Obalowu Dare praised the present leadership of the Authority for its commitment to training and welfare of all members of staff.
Obalowu who boldly declared that, “this training has truly achieved its set goals.” said the training is organized to ensure that members of staff are abreast of current information and the drive towards better service delivery in the Authority.
Speaking in the same vein, Mrs. Akingbeloye, another participant declared that, “Over the last three days we have gained a lot that will go a long way in equipping us to be more productive and efficient in delivering our job schedule.”
She went through the topics covered during the three days training with emphasis on the need to ensure an efficient and enhanced job delivery.
