The Acting Director Electrical, Kogi State Ministry of Works, Engineer Abbas Ibrahim has described the victory of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo at the Supreme Court as a victory for democracy and good governance.
Engineer Ibrahim in his congratulatory message in Lokoja said the Ministry as a whole particularly the electrical department is elated by the development and wish the Governor a stable and fulfilled tenure.
He also congratulated the Commissioner of Works, Engineer Mohammed Yusuf on the victory emphasing that the verdict has terminated distractions.
The Acting Director recalled that Governor Ododo has hit the ground running with laid down structure to build on saying Kogi will soon become a reference point in the aspect of infrastructural development.
On Kogi at 33, the Acting Director said the state has withnessed a steady growth.
He said government is making efforts to industrialise the State through several initiatives including the proposed air port in Ajaokuta, the establishment of Kogi Electricity Distributions Company for the State to generate her power supply and possibly add to the National Grid.
He explained that the project will depend on both gas and coal which are readily available in the state.
The Acting Director expressed hope that the State with her abundance resources has the capacity to attract investors globally.
