The Elewa Atomode ll of Gbedde land, Chief Olukayode Olonishuwa, has described the Supreme Court judgment affirming the election of Gov Usman Ododo as a welcome development for the state.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Lokoja at the weekend, Chief Olonishuwa who is also the publisher of Kogi Updates said the judgement has further cemented the ongoing developments being enjoyed by Kogites in the State.
While affirming that the judgement aligns with the wishes of Kogites, Elewa Atomode described the verdict as the expectation of citizens who meant well for the people of Kogi State.
He said, “This judgement is an affirmation of the good things Kogites have been enjoying since taking up the mantle of leadership in the State.
“This judgement aligns with the will of the people of Kogi State and has finally solidified the mandate given to Alhaji Usman Ododo. This victory truly marks a new dawn for the state and we believe that Kogites will soon start reaping the dividends of democracy.”
He therefore called on all Kogites irrespective of political inclinations to come together and join the Governor in forging a common front for the good of the State and the masses.
“Instead of being a clog in the wheel of progress, it is important for every patriotic Kogite to join Gov Ododo in his mission of laying a solid foundation for the progress of the State.a
“The battle to govern the State is over with the prouncement of the Supreme Court so anyone who truly loves this state will join the elected Governor in ensuring that this State attains her full potential,” he said.
