Arsenal contacts Osimhen

Arsenal has reportedly gotten in touch with Victor Osimhen of Napoli as the Premier League’s biggest clubs step up their summertime pursuit of a potent forward.

Since joining the Italian team from Lille in 2020, the Nigerian international has been in incredible form, scoring 76 goals in all competitions.

Due to his goal-scoring ability, a number of elite players in the Premier League are keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old striker. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, two French teams, have also expressed interest in the player.

Even if Mikel Arteta’s team has already discussed a transfer, it is not thought that they are in the lead in the competition for his signature. This comes after Gianluca Di Marzio stated that no meaningful talks have occurred to bettingexpert.com (via The Mirror).
not yet.

Osimhen is allegedly one of Paris Saint-Germain’s top targets this summer as they try to replace Kylian Mbappe, who departed to join Real Madrid.

Despite their reluctance to pay his £112 million release clause, the Ligue 1 powerhouses may be the only European team able to lure him away from Napoli.

Chelsea doesn’t seem to be in the running for Osimhen, despite strong connections to the player in prior years. They haven’t shown much interest lately. Samu Omorodion of Atletico Madrid is reportedly Enzo Maresca’s favorite, but Alvaro Morata’s transfer to AC

Following remarks made by Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho, who likened the Napoli striker to Chelsea icon Didier Drogba, Arsenal’s chase of Osimhen may pick up steam.

“Drogba and him are on the same level, but Didier chose not to dive. It’s okay if Victor changes. If I was at a wealthy club, I would purchase him,” Mourinho remarked.

The Dutch prodigy Joshua Zirkzee was signed by Manchester United for £36.5 million, and with Chelsea pulling back, the Gunners have a chance to challenge Osimhen.

Alexander Isak of Newcastle United and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP are considered as possible replacements for Osimhen should Arsenal be unable to sign him.

But both players have high price tags; Gyokeres has an £84 million release clause, and Isak valued at £100m.
